Rich and I have been watching other full-time RVers’ videos for over two years now as we prepare for our own full-time RV adventure starting in May 2022. Buc-ee’s, a humongous convenience store with locations around the country, has popped up in many of those videos and we were intrigued. On our way to Rich’s NRVTA training, we saw our first Buc-ee’s in Denton, Texas, and knew we had to stop and take a look.
We were shocked at the 120 gas pumps, and then, we saw it: The Buc-ee’s car wash. It was so big! We knew we had to give it a go. We were happy that we didn’t have Stella (our dually) yet. Instead, we were driving a rented Nissan Ultima which gave us the opportunity to take a ride through the 250-foot tunnel (and get our car washed at the same time).
Then we ventured inside the Buc-ee’s store: all 50,000 square feet of it! From Buc-ee’s swag to candy corn and everything in between, the store is definitely an adventure in itself. Oh, and the bathrooms are very, very clean and spacious.
Holy Cow! Buc-ee’s is an experience to be had, at least once in your life. Here are some stats:
- Gas pumps: 120
- Car wash length: 250 feet. The average length of standard car washes: 120 feet
- Store size: 50,000 square feet, the size of a typical GROCERY store. The average size of a typical convenience store is 2,400 square feet.
We washed, we shopped, and we gassed up. Basically, we Buc-eed! Watch the video and join us on our epic Buc-ee’s adventure.
